About us

Moving countries is one of the biggest decisions a person can make, and the information around it is often confusing, out of date or written to sell something. HausTravel exists to fix that. We publish plain-English guides to work visas, green cards and permanent residence, jobs abroad, salaries and the real cost of living, and we link every important claim back to the official source.

What we cover

• Country guides: what you can expect to earn and spend, and how to settle in, in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, the Gulf, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.

Our principles

1. Official sources first. We build every guide from government websites, legislation and official guidance, and we list those sources at the end of the article.
2. Dates you can trust. Every guide shows when it was published and when it was last updated. When rules change, we revise the guide and change the date.
3. No hype and no guarantees. Nobody can promise you a visa, a job or an approval, and we never will.
4. Independence. Advertisers do not influence what we write. Ads on the Site are clearly separate from our guides.

What we are not

HausTravel is an independent publication. We are not a law firm, an immigration consultancy or a government agency, and we are not affiliated with USCIS, the US Department of State, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), or any other government body. Our guides are general information, not advice about your personal circumstances. For that, speak to a licensed immigration lawyer or a regulated adviser.
